These items are not available for sale via this forum - I'm preparing to sell them via trade me and WEBUY but would like to take this opportunity to showcase the items here since I collect vintage/retro toys.

Thanks for these infos. I love those toys. Unfortunately children today are mainly exposed to cheap toys which break easily and then are thrown away. It's such a wrong message we give to children today. I made most of the toys for my children and they still got most of them.

Very true sweet - I loved all my toys as a kid - the toys being showcased are more for collectors.

Tin Toy Arcadewww.tintoyarcade.com/more-about-our-tin-toys-i-8.htmlTraditional Tin Toy making is becoming a lost art. These toys were popular in the 1920’s to 1960’s before plastic toys and video games. Tin Toys were originally made in America and Germany, but production moved to Japan after World War II. These toys are made using the same techniques used by toy makers in a previous era. Each toy starts as a flat sheet of printed steel and then it's cut into its many pieces. Each piece is then formed into its final shape by passing it through numerous tooling stations until its final shape is achieved. These separate pieces are then hand assembled to create a single finished Tin Toy. Because this is such a labor intensive process, it is easy to see why Tin Toy production was quickly abandoned when plastic molding was developed. Now, these Tin Toys are valued by collectors as historical toys and art. Tin Man - Tin Toyswww.tinmantintoys.com/catalog.htmlToys from the 1950'snz.youtube.com/watch?v=HZE3tOV4Zl8

When I was a girl I had an electric stove I could cook on. I still have this stove. Here in NZ I never saw stoves which really work. Over the years I collected a few. Some look similar to the ones on this website: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/PuppenherdSome work with a candle!!!! Today it sounds very unsafe to have electricity or candles for children. I loved my stove and never had problems with the electricity.

Ivy - when I was a kid I had this little oven (tin I think) and when you closed the door the light would turn on and it would be cooking a rotating chicken - God I loved that toy and I had these wonderful vintage toy telephones, which is why I collect phones still today - I had this "bat phone" bright red connected to my sisters room and we would ring each other on it - when we received a call, the whole phone would glow and have this wonderful bell ring - god why can't they make toys like that.
How old are you Ivy - I've just turned 39.
Did you see the products that I'm importing from the states - I had this little plastic chicken that would lay eggs when you pressed her down on a hard surface - I bought the tin equivalent.

Hello Certigy - the bat phone sounds so much fun and I would of loved having one like that. Today they give children DVD games (some with a lot of violence) and wonder why they get more and more violent and obese. I remember we made toys ourselves. My brother had a wooden gun and I was sewing clothes for dolls. I didn't like dolls that much but I loved sewing clothes and my mother would let me use her sewing machine. Because these old toys were made that well they are still around. I saw the chicken laying eggs. What a curious thing! I am soon 51y.

51 but uuuum you sound so cool for someone so mature (hahaha) I mean I knew you had grown kids but you are so vibrant mind you - 50 is the new 40. Yes I loved that little egg laying chicken, which is probably why I adopt a chicken like image from time to time (hehe)

And I don't intend to do that now. In some ways my children are more adult than me. I love fun and sometimes get it especially when I go shopping and my children stay away from me when I am in that mood! ;D
