It's not surprising that since I collect vintage and retro products that I appreciate the architectural design of classic cars - I may not know how a car operates under the bonnet but I truly adore the various styles of cars that were constructed during the 1950's and this thread is a reflection of my passion for classic cars from this bygone area. Your input to this section is welcome. Leigh ;D

The first car I ever drove was a 67 Chevy Impala, similar to this one but in much better condition lol! my parents both love the cars from the 50s and 60s with all the chrome and big fins, and they wish they had never sold the Chev.

I bought this in 2006 ,.. it will be a classic soon bought it off a doctor and it still has the doctors insignia on the number place ,..should be worth a bit I bought the car for 12 hundred the next day a young man offered me 10,thou I told him it was a figure that slipped too easily off his tongue could he try harder ,..he did Im not selling it to outsiders!,... she is a beauty 1971 Mercedes benz automatic in for a warrant in november .. 3 guys poured over it with a fine tooth comb, as they would with cars that age. they had it for almost half n hour pushing, prodding, working the springs and bolts, ( gee I know eh! ) and spent a long time underneath,… given the hell once over ,. all they found was a slightly fraying front seat belt ,.back right hand brake needed adjusting, and that’s it ,.. how cool is that. I drive it often and its held together wonderfully, I was so pleased,. ;D ;D.

Do you remember ..... Days when petrol was so cheap, when driving with your family it was an adventure - the whole family would be bundled into the car and our father would drive us to see family in neighbouring towns. I remember on those car trips I would sing, fight and play family car games. Our traditional games were; I spy how many squashed possums can you see singing and not traditional 10 bottles of bear Pearly Shellswww.youtube.com/watch?v=9_oxyyVXRcw&feature=relatedPearly shells on the ocean shining in the sun covering the shore
When I see you my heart tells me that I love you more than all those little pearly shellsI remember stopping at this dairy just before Bulls where they always served the best ice-creams, then on the way home stopping into our favorite take away for massive portions of fish and chips (wrapped in News Paper), bottle of Lemon and Paeroa. I also remember the window being down, and falling asleep in the car as our father drove us safely home. TODAY....My sister has this fabulous family stationwagon (tank) surround sound, dvd players, air conditioning and her children don't talk to each other because they are either watching a movie, listening to an ipod or playing on some fan-dangled technology. Back then driving was always an occassion. E
