C&P from Cafe Mamamia... 12lb of tomatoes, 3oz of whole allspice, (about 2 packets) 3oz of plain salt,3lb of brown sugar, 1 1/2 pints of vinegar (about 900mls) 4 to 6 onions and 4 apples. Wash and cut tomatoes into quarters, put allspice into a mulism bag, put all ingredients into a large preserving pot simmer for 3 hours , stir frequently. mouli then bottle and cork. I used my stick blender instead of the mouli this time and it was great. Thanks womble, IvyPlus is determined to get her sauce as close to the taste of Heinz Ketchup as possible, as that is everyones favourite around these here parts, perhaps the allspice is the "secret" ingredient...
