SUGAR FREEwww.sugarfreeplease.co.nzInteresting site Leigh, a quick browse there tells me that it is an unbiased site offering every alternative to sugar you can shake a stick at, whilst noting that not all alternatives are necessarily good for you. Let the consumer decide, everything from aspartame to stevia, a very tidy website, well done www.sugarfreeplease.co.nz !

I only thought to add it because I have family members who have diabetes. I was actually looking for a confectionary supplier when I came across this website. I have a terrible sweet-tooth and I'm often very aware of my own family members when I visit there homes and have to take into account there medical requirements - I know that supermarkets are offering better choices to people with diabetes and that's wonderful - there was a time there when people would say "sugar free what?" Anyway I love having access to visa and internet and will sample some of these treats for myself - Ooooh the hardship ;D but I feel I must just take one for the team I'm afraid. Leigh

My daughter asked me yesterday for the recipe of "Grieskoepfli". It is a dessert made from semolina.
If you are interested here it is:
1 cup semolina or rice flour 4 cups milk salt (tip of a knife) 4 table spoons sugar vanilla essence 1/2 skin of a lemon 4 tablespoons sultanas or raisins or other dried fruits handfull grated almonds (optional)
Heat up the milk with sugar, salt, vanilla, lemon skin and add the semolina carfully into the hot milk. Stir till the semolina gets firm (may take a few minutes). Add the dried fruits and nuts.
Pour into cups which were rinsed with cold water (the mixture doesn't stick to them when cold and can be tipped onto a plate).
