She looks simply devine when fully opened, could be the windy day putting her off displaying her full beauty? Here's hoping, stay tuned! ;D PS. Another pod is coming up too!

This would definitely look gorgeous as a set of 3 or 4 paintings ... She is a beautiful flower!
One of the most restful things I find to do is to gaze into the heart of a flower ...

Then I think you are going to like this next shot! Taken at 5.15pm. She didn't fully unfurl today, maybe she is camera shy? So I came down from above, exposing all her inner glory... Beautiful! I have mentioned before that I love symmetry in art. Nature itself is the best artist, in my opinion. ;D A day in the life of a Water Lily...

Another Lily pic, this is the second one to come up, the other one opened and closed on a daily basis for about a week, then closed up and hasn't opened again, I guess that's the lifecycle of a water lily...

Really nice pictures, I am so jealous.
We have a huge pond here, but the local duck population is reaching plague proportions. Any plants that we put in the pond get eaten within 24 hours, and the gardens around the margins aren't safe either.
Can anyone reccomend duckproof plants and/or effective duck repellants?

A shotgun would be the first and most obvious answer Naki... Please proceed to eat the spoils of your cull, or at least offer them to someone who would appreciate it.

If I were rural, I'd seriously think about it.
However, repeated blasts of a shotgun in town tend to attract the Armed Offenders Squad, and I can't be doing with burying them as well.
