Check out my latest acquisition, it looked very similar to your one at the recycle centre Capt., pretty rough, so I took a chance and only put a $4 bid in, what a score! A two minute fettle and I'm cooking! A quick clean with some vinegar, a bit of oil on the pump plunger, a quick poke with my pricker, and it's away... ;D

;D That looks identical to mine, wonders if they are not all made in the same factory and they just put different brands on them. Like F&P do with their whiteware. LMAO

DO you need another butner top, O? Yeah I do K, good attention to detail there! I'm sooooo into this whole stove buzz now, these things look like a pile of junk, yet there is so little that can go wrong with them! Like losing parts, I also picked this Coleman two-burner up from the recycle centre a few weeks back, runs on unleaded petrol,...

Have you ever tried to run a primus on petrol K ? I was told at Bruce Rollo's that Kerosene is the best fuel for the Primus's, wouldn't mind trying other stuff though, maybe diesel? BTW, stop buying meths for preheating fuel, I will bring you some of our distilling "firsts" around sometime, works just as well and we have about 5 litres of the stuff...

Sounds good. ;D
I think I've read a post about trying petrol etc in the kero stoves (on the stove forum)but it's not advisable. Petrol under pressure is a lot different from kero...
Try searching their forum and see what you come up with?

;D Oasis don't what ever put petrol in these kero burners. I went to school with a fella that did just that and his face is scared with skin grafts from when it blew up and badly burnt all his face from the eyes down.

My latest acquisition, although I'll probably list this one on TM, as I'm more into the liquid fuel cookers. It's a little Primus LPG cooker, dubbed the spaceship.

Very interesting. It would be a better score from the recyclers for $10.......if Kim is lucky enough to see one there!

So, a tad on the expensive side you think?
Interesting pieces though. Or are they not uncommon?

Good spotting, cheers Macca, we have had dealings with the good folk at the weka gallery before, we bought a wine press off tm from them a while back now, and my sister used to own the house just up the back of their shop. Now that I know what they are, yes I have seen them at the recycle centre, it could well be where they picked them up! ******** Plug for the weka gallery, they have some lovely unusual/arty ceramic products... wekagallery.co.nz/

Scored another couple of liquid fuel burners, first up is a primus, preheating... Houston, we have take off!... Cooking on gas... Next is an old Tilley lamp, what a beauty! 20 bucks and still works as well as the day it was brand new! Preheating... Mantel is starting to glow... More glow... Came with all the accessories, we are using our own firsts from distilling for preheating fuel...
