The fish we caught in the net was impressive.... I didn't get a picture of the rig, which is a type of shark and is used for Fish'n'Chips. A good eating fish and we got a very large one caught in the net. There must've been a school of big kawahai cruising past, and they got caught as well. We got blue Moki (pictured below) and red Moki. They are a vegetarian fish living in the weeds so cannot be caught on a line. We also got a stingray in the net but released him unharmed. We like stingrays and wouldn't want to hurt any uneccessarily.

I'll tell you later. I have had Moki before and remember it to be a white fish, similar to cod or snapper I've scaled and gutted the panny Terahki for brekkie and will get some more fish pics later to show the size of them - maybe put a loaf of bread next to them or something...

Terahki is one of the best. Funny story: The other day at the supermarket Kelsie was with her mother at the fresh fish thingee, she doesn't like salmon (nice) which her Mother was getting, and so she asked for snapper, because THAT is the ONLY fish she likes. At $50 a kilo, her Mother pointed to the red cod for $20 (beside the snapper) and said to the lady, "we'll have some of that, thanks." Anyway, got home, cooked it on the barby, egg & breadcrumbs, in butter. I told her afterwards it was cod. well, she decided it was "OK" LOL. The next day was my Dad's 60th, and we all went out to Gybe (restaurant) for dinner. The kids menu consisted of Lamb, Snapper, or Chicken dishes. Crikey, now she doesn't want anything else except COD!!! KIDS!

;D Yep kids are funny creatures when it comes to food. My two daughters use to take a glass to the bathroom to get some drinking water when asked why not from the kitchen sink they both tried to tell me it tasted better. Grrrrrr!!!!!!!

Ladeda if you get a stingray that is beyond saving, the flaps are simply beautiful smoked. (Same with shark) Needs to be laid on racks, as although the skin is very tough as soon as the heat gets to it they will fall off hooks.

Looks like an awesome boat! That's the good thing about logging - hard dangerous work but you get the big pay! Adam has no children so he can afford his toys... Now all he needs is a woman but we are going to have to send in the "How Clean Is Your House" team for his house and boat before one will even look his way!

Kawahai recipe:
kawahai mashed potatoes onion parsley
Cook kawahai fillets in a frypan with a little milk (about a cm deep). Drain the fish and give the cooled milk to the cat. Flake the cooked fish with a fork.
Mix with about the same amount of mashed potatoes. Add chopped onion (red onion is nice) and chopped parsley. When cool, mix in a beaten egg. If the misture is too soft, add some flour.
Make into balls and roll in breadcrumbs.
Drop in hot oil and flatten to make patties.
Nice to serve with sweet chilli sauce.

Sounds deliciousssssssssssss With the price of petrol ever on the increase I am sooooo glad we have sail!!!! What amazes me, is these huge gin palaces on the water that much cost thousands to fill, and they roar around vast distances at huge speeds!!!! Great pics, O Best Beloved Ducky One
