Why, you ask? If we had a public holiday for every great New Zealander we'd never be at work!!!!!

Well we could get rid of that controversial Waitangi Day which causes so much strife. Replace it with a Sir Ed. Anyway WD is far to close to Auck Ann. Day and we have a large gap from Queens Birth. to Labour Day put it in between those ones. But I'm a silly old pensioner now so it does not matter what they do. I won't benefit from it. ;D ;D

Yes, why not, the Swiss are most famous for inventing an excuse for a day off, yet enjoy one of the highest standards of living in the world. ;D Would be in favour of ditching Waitangi day, in fact I'll be voting for a party that's prepared to scrap "The Treaty" (industry) altogether... ;D It's my belief that the majority of Maori would support that view. If they haven't already buggered off to Aussie that is... And I shall not be justifying my opinion, so don't ask! ;D

Thats Granny Adamson my great grand mother who went for her first plane flight with Jean Batten (younger one) at the tender age of 100. She liked is so much she had another flight a few months later. That same old lady was present at the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi at the age of 8.
