Woohooo, the fruit trees are beginning to bud, the tulips are starting to come up, and some early spring flowers are finally coming on!

Shudders! One is going to have to get A into G and prune the grape vines, apple trees and a plum. So far no buds appearing but it won't be long.

Just got to my plum tree in time there was the odd bit of colour starting to show. Notice the birds are busy building there nests, god help any bloody cat that comes on my bit of dirt. Grrrrr!!!!!

Dunedin City HEAVY SNOW WARNING OTAGO CANTERBURY : Rain is expected to turn to snow early tomorrow as cold southerlies spread northwards. Around 10 to 15cm of snow are possible above 300 metres in a 6 to 9 hour period starting soon after midnight in Otago, from about 4am Tuesday in south Canterbury and from about 7am from Banks Peninsula northwards. Lesser amounts of snow are likely down to about 100 metres.

I'm not surprised .. it's one of those cold nor-westerlies here in Chch (usually they are really warm.)

Daylight saving kicks in on Sunday 30th Sept and finishes on Sunday 6th April 2008. An extension of 4 weeks. So barbie aprons looked out for the Alfresco look.

Oh I love your lovely red twolips lol! Seriously they are very beautiful, also your vase arrangement looks very spring like. I have three spikes of orchid buds, I will put some pics up when they bloom

Thanks Val, we have a lot of flowers to come on yet, there will be some lovely displays to come! The twolips, (lol!) are not doing that well, we heard you should remove them from the ground over winter and replant them in some new nutrient rich soil?...
