It seems that the price of power just keeps going up and up ... so in here, I'd like for us to share the ways we all endeavour to keep the power bill as low as possible.
A few ideas were thrown around in the whinge section the other day, mainly cooking up large amounts of soup/casseroles etc and freezing them in either individual servings or family sized servings ready to be nuked and served with rice/pasta another night.
I'd be interested to see what others come up with!

Turn the oven and microwave off at the wall. Use a fireplace(if you have one) instead of a heater. Throw the bathroom heating rack out. Turn off indoor sensor lights when you go to bed. Turn the computer and modem off at the wall. Invest in a good set of thermal curtains, to help keep the heat in.

Use hot water bottles instead of an electric blanket.
Drink heaps of alcohol. It'll keep you warm.

Use hot water bottles instead of an electric blanket. Orrrr ... just make sure your partner gets into bed first .. then make them jump when you hop in with your cold feet lol (of course I don't do that! ;D ;D ) Drink heaps of alcohol. It'll keep you warm. *edit - mucked up the quotes again lol*
