Let me know how you get on, I guess the potassium in the bananas may provide the abrasiveness required to take a bit of surface off the disc, or you are merely filling up the scratches with material. Our Build a Computer tutor was VERY pedantic about not putting a disk down on the back side, as that is actually where the information is written, having been burnt by laser, the slightest scratch on the picture side will destroy your data, scratches on the shiny side can be removed, as they do not carry the data. Apparently another great quick fix is hair gel, rub it into the scratch and wipe off any excess, what you are doing is creating a medium through which the laser beam can read. In the meantime, I'll stick to this... Dunno how much they cost, I scored this one from the recycle shop for a couple of dollars.

I was going to buy a proper one off TM but they can cost up to $75, I can afford it but theres other things I could be spending the cash on at this time of year, arrrrgk fuxing xmas. I did a couple of discs today, one that didnt work at all now days, another one that use to skip now doesnt but one that had a deep long scratch in it didnt work. So minor - medium damage it will work on, which I will find still ruddy good as master 12 has about a dozen discs to do.
