Just been for a run. Has been a very intense week or so and have been pushing everything as much as can. 2 hrs in the hills yesterday left me very spent and I was dreading tonights hour long run. 3/4 of the way through and feeling exhausted and moody and very sorry for myself I found something a little deeper down inside me that got very angry and pushed myself incredibly hard for the last few km's. Long story short, by the time I finished I couldn't stand up under my own steam and sat on the grass trying to figure out how I got there A nice couple drove by, saw my state, and turned around to lend a hand. I was staggering back to my feet by the time they offered assistance and I was a bit embarrassed and declined but I thought about it afterwards: that was very kind of them to not just keep driving. To make an effort to help someone else. Not the first time people have stopped to help when I've been running – I must look like I'm gonna die Always seems to be the older generation that are more than willing to lend a hand, rather than my or younger generations. At least seems that way.

Strange as it may seem but there are still some nice, decent people in this world... Good on them...

I do most of my shopping at New World as the clientelle is far nicer. At Countdown I am likely to have my walking stick kicked out from under me. At New World I very rarely have to return my shopping trolley as there is some nice person willing to take it back or use it themselves. So I don't mind paying a wee bit more for my groceries if the task is made that more pleasant.

We had a rather interesting "Good Samaritan" moment a couple of weeks back... We were driving along Waimea road when we saw a young lady, perhaps 18, maybe only 16, laying on the ground in front of a car, which had also stopped to see what the problem was, at first we thought she may have been struck by the car... Ivyplus went back to see if she could offer assistance, as I turned the car around, as I came back to the scene the girl was beginning to stumble away on her "merry" way. I stopped the car at the other end of the lane and and began walking toward her, when see saw me she veered off at gangling gait, at this stage it was becoming clear she was on something. Met up with Ivyplus who says that she had said nothing to her or the other people that had stopped to assist, and she had a very strange glaze in her eye. So back to the car and we follow her a bit further down the road, where she manages to hoist herself over a fence and onto the grounds of a park, where she just drops and lays. We drive to the other side of the park, and knock on a door to ask to use the phone. At this point the girl had gotten up and was on the move again, heading diagonally across the sports field, about half way across she began to remove the top half of her clothing, now naked from the waist up, about to wander into the back streets of Nelson in broad daylight! Concerned for her safety, we jump back in the car and starting heading in the direction she was heading, as we approached a fork in the road we stopped and asked another young lady if she had seen a half-naked girl wander past, this other girl hardly batted an eyelid, as if this was a common occurrence or something, and just states, "oh, she went that way"... So we went that way and she seemed to have vanished, we thought she might have fallen into the bush or someones garden, so we had a bit of a look around, couldn't find her, but noted that a front gate and front door to a house was left wide open, so we assume she did in fact make her way home. Blardy sad to see such a lovely young lady so screwed up on some evil substance, probably given to her by some conscienceless arsehole...

Oasis what an experience in broad daylight too,...wonders how many others would have shown such concern,..I feel the majority would have been like that one you asked directions from,..it feels like a "that generation" thing ,..dunno,..but but but,..
