I am the worlds worst at maths. Had all this algebra crap rammed into me at high school and it never sunk in. Yet I had over 30 yrs in the general engineering as a fitter & turner. Not once did I need any of that stuff. Back then we did not have calculators, we had to use logrithims (sp) and slide rules, which I have not got a clue how to use. This has been mentioned to others during my time in the trade and amazing enough others said the same.

So much of the work done by those operating at such high altitudes in such rarefied air is either desperate clambering of self-serving egos for higher intellectual ground, or so abstract as to render it beyond the practical usefulness of the cabbage planters. However, we shouldn’t deride (too much) the academics who we perceive as being at the forefront of uselessness, because every so often their work does filter down to us lay-people in positive (if somewhat remarkably abstract) ways. I call that the Pantene phenomenon: it won't happen overnight, but it will happen. Please note, any connection between Hunter and academia is coincidental and not intentional.

Glad to hear that, due to it being my second cuzzy. LMAO ;D ;D
