en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Composting_toiletWe have just about finished building our composting toilet down at the "shack-in-the-back", the accommodation for the WWOOFers. Finishing off the framing... Mate Rob gives it a trial run, hahaha! The tarpaulin is just temporary, it will eventually have board and batten walls, and we will be able to reuse some more of the cruddy old roofing off the old greenhouse.

It was a busy day again. The Lintonlil's came and finished the composting toilet. It looks good and is already in use since about 2 weeks. It doesn't smell. The inside of the "Shack in the Back" (as we call it). There are two beds in it as well. And the Lintonlil's installed a water tank. We only have to wait for rain now. There is a solar panel on the roof. A tv, dvd, radio and lights work from it.

How do you run the TV or is that decoration??? It is working and I am so happy about the whole project and how it worked out. Big O and Mr Lintonlil installed a 80W solar panel which feeds two truck batteries. A 1000W inverter changes the currancy to 230V~ and a tv, dvd, radio and lights work perfectly. Next step might be a small pump which will be attached to the water tank and there will be running water in the shack. There is already a sink there.

No, we only collect the water from the back roof. Behind the shack is a 1000 liter water tank and we might install a small pump from this water tank to the sink inside the house, so there will be running water. I am actually impressed how well the solar panel works. Mr Lintonlil even had his saw running from the solar energy.
It was such a pleasure working with the Lintonlil's. They did most of the work on it.
