We were heading home from town yesterday when I spotted a garage sale... We go in for a quick look around, I stop at the computer stuff, and Ivyplus carries on around and spots a circa 1939 Swiss army gas mask in immaculate condition! She takes it up to the lady and she says "oh, two dollars?"... Blardy tin-arse ivyplus, she has imported several of these from Switzerland, the best price we have gotten for one was about a hundred dollars, the last couple we sold went for about 80 dollars! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..............

;D My grandmother used to have two gas masks, that she picked up at auctions. She had them hanging in her outside 'long drop' to the amusement of visitors. LOL.

Yes sometimes you can find really good stuff for a good price. A while back when I had my antique shop and went to Europe to buy stuff I often could find good scores at flea markets. It helps when you know what is selling well in New Zealand. It was amazing how cheap religious items were selling in Europe and how much you could get here. But things changed and Europe sells those religious items on ebay all over the world and they were no more available at flea markets.

Yes it all changes alright, when the fella from Webbs Auctions was here a few weeks ago I asked about auctioning my German Beer Stein collection and he said there is very little interest in them now. So I will just sit on them until the interest picks up again.

Christine used to listen to a Swiss station whilst she was working, till we got our monthly bill from xtra, and we had blown our BB limit and it cost her a fortune, Mind you, it was the holidays so the boy was here downloading heaps of stuff too, and I think we have unlimited or a much higher allowance now, thanks Manuela, will let her know... ;D
