Amazing what you can buy on TM and other auction sites. Wonder how they get it to the new place since it is not flying. We missed out on a cream separator yesterday. I had set myself a price of $600 but it went higher. (I think we can live without one) www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=150835515

I thought I saw it all on tm when some guy was selling coffins I love the variety of the product range on tm but I don't like the fees (hehe) its the nature of the beast I'm afraid. your money is GONE. My sister Issy was prepared to pay just under 2k for a dolls house, mind you it was magnificant and had been in someone's family for over 100 years - had actual antique pieces in the house and was simply charming - that auction was exciting in the end my sister reached her limit, but god I love those auctions that have you on the edge of your seat.

It was a wind up by hand one that I had carted from farm to farm and only ever used half a dozen times. I listed it on tm once, had a $20 reserve, no bids. Off it went to the tip. Perfect condition.

Over the weekend I went to my favourite bargin place in the world - THE RED SHED Anyway I see a lot of beautiful old things thrown away only to be bought by someone like me and resold on some auction site at a ridiculous profit. What gets me the most are containers filled with people's photographs - old photos of loved ones, children, families (sigh) someone's life just discarded as if their time on this planet was marked by a few photos which ended up down at the recycle centre to be sold for as little as 10 cents god I'm making myself depressed. I tend to purchase items from the RED SHED that were often associated with my childhood. Next time I'm down at the shed I will take a few photos of the treasures on offer - Uuum its not really allowed but I will be discrete

I reckon TM and Zillion are the only sites worth anything ... being a web developer myself, I find the others very amateurish ... For example, I registered on Webuy a few months back, and the final registration screen printed the mysql resource id to the screen ... very sloppy, php has better abstractions for database access, to have the resource id printing to the screen, I assume they're using the straight mysql_* functions, which you have to be careful with, which obviously they're not I trained in php development under a guy that helped with the creation of game planet, he was a really clever guy(created open2view.com himself) and he had nothing but praise for the level of programmer that Simon Barton is, I was working with him when Zillion was first launched and he just raved about how great the technology behind it was going to be ... And Trade Me while not as good technically, has the membership to keep it ahead for a long time yet JMTCW

What kind of toys are you collecting? I love old toys too. I sell and collect vintage/retro toys sweet, this is a relatively new hobby as I've been collecting old telephones, cameras, typewriters since I was a kid. I've won two tin toy auctions - the one above and this auction is my recent purchase. Tin Litho Milky WaY Rocketshipwww.trademe.co.nz/Toys-models/Vintage/photos/a-162467052/p-66972334.htm

Funny these fibre glass cows. I wonder what to do with them, maybe a garden feature!
