Yup I can ... and I can put missing teeth in and lose a few wrinkles should anyone need it too!!! Haha.
Seriously - I'm fundraising for Wanganui High School at the moment, and I got a portrait in of two children both handicapped and both absolutely gorgeous - I was able to 'mute' some of the obvious disfigurements in the little girl .. so it was obvious but not obvious - the parents loved it - that is why or at least ONE reason why portraits are so very special.

manuka, do you do fantasy back drops? EG: I give you a photo of my boy and you sketch him, then add a forest-style background with a Dragon curled around him? Something like that?

My suggestion there Alglarana is to find the backdrop you wish and merge the portrait I draw with that. I usually keep my themes fairly neutral and concentrate on the subject themselves. Or another thought has just popped into my head ... as my first thought is - with a fantasy background it could look overdone in pencil, is a plain portrait with a frame and you could add dragons etc around the frame? Anyway just a thought.
Thanks for asking. If you have any other ideas feel free to pm me or email me at Nuka@clear.net.nz
Have a wonderful day! xxx

Please Note: That due to Manukarose Art soon to be launched - prices have been modified to fit the expectation of the market and the purchase of art equipment will enable my work to be even more detailed than in the past.
Remember when purchasing art - you are also purchasing a one-off piece that has been drawn by an artist who has over 25 years experience in the art field.
Thank you to those who have purchased portraits via YOP - I hope your 2008 year is a good one. Regards Manukarose.

We are heading out for a bbq ... have a lot of work to do though so nothing spectacular planned here.
Re: Your Merc ... that would be $55.00 an hour depending on how much detail you want in it as to how long I spend on it - I foresee 3 hours?. And I think A2 is as big as you want to get - which is 4x the size of A4 (typing paper). Could do A1 which is x2 the size again ... I could do that on nice embossed cardboard that would give it a lovely look. I presume black and white? I think its a more realistic look.
Be realistic though as you may wish to frame it - so that would be quite expensive.
Photos: Just need to be very clear and as many as you have - the better the result.
If you ever need to contact me via email or phone and i'm not here on YOP just google Manukarose my contacts on there.
Take care and enjoy tomorrow hon ... i think we have a volleyball game or something on as well so that will be awesome.
Catchya sometime. xx
