polystyrene FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we got heaps of it (more than in the photo)!!!! For free, you have to pick it up from our yard in Opua large pieces from outboard crates - this are NOT sheets - all sorts of sizes and shapes - had a few people picking trailer-loads up for insulating floors, roofs etc. pass this on PLEASE

One wonders if those could be put through a chipping machine to make into packing? When I was into growing plants these trays filled with potting mix were great for seedlings, striking cuttings etc. as being an insulation it kept the plants' little feet warm. LMAO. Had to sort out the grammar before Dalbyj finds it. LOL. *You missed one ;D ;D *

yes I know you can do that and there is also a machine to make blocks - so it is easier to resell! I personally think that Yamaha (the supplier of the outboards) should take the crates back and reuse them! It is REALLY hard to recycle up north, they don't even pick up recycling from households!

I have a cunning plan....make them into an iceberg and float them out to sea, then tell everyone at Orewa the water level is about to rise one hundred fold, but wait... luckily you have one or two boats left in the yard that you could sell them at an inflated price. ;D

Yeah, good one Luxuryflake ;D This material is also great for people packing fragile products, fills the gaps and light weight, (better than newspaper etc) not sure how it would go through a garden shredder though Meandog, might give that a go tomorrow and let you know the results.

You're welcome Manuela ;D I just read your bit about recycling (or lack thereof) above, I bet you struggled with what to do with dead batteries when you came to NZ too! We are still a bit behind here...

oh yes the batteries just shocked me.... still does but the BEST (or worst) is the local rubbish company who wants to charge our business MORE for not dumping ENOUGH rubbish at the transfer station... now how sick is this?
