Wow, awesome before and after pics there Naki, thanks a lot for sharing! Yes, we do have a before and after pic or two, always some project on the go here. Love your pond, what are the strings and bottles for, bird protection? Do you have any goldfish? We have beautiful large goldfish, (check this thread... tinyurl.com/4rd6yd ) and I have an abundance of young ones this year, let me know if you'd like some!

Yes, the fishing line and bottles help to deter the ducks, they tend to foul up the pond which is only fed by rainwater from our roof. We have goldfish too - about 18 mature fish and a vast cloud of new season stock. We released a whole heap into a bigger pond last winter to allow our breeding stock more room to grow. The children nave named a few.... Patrick [bronze] and Jaws [gold] Whitey....

Well done Naki. You have a wonderful garden. I like the idea that the rainwater from the roof goes into the pond. Might keep that in mind for our garden. Unfortunately it doesn't rain enough in Nelson. Do you remember about a month ago a truck tyre smashed through our gate and even broke an old garden bench. The gate could be fixed but the garden bench was not that easy to fix again. So we used it to make a swing. Here the before and after photos of our bench/swing:

We (the Lintonli's and me) had a very busy day yesterday. Mr Lintonlil was a army engineer and is retired now. He designs all my ideas for the garden and Mrs Lintonlil is his assistence. Yesterday we started with the rose pergola and as soon as it is finished (madybe today) I will add some pics. In the afternoon the cow got insamniated. So about 10. February we will announce the arrival of our nex calf. (I thought of a name for it. Maybe Pergola or Pergolo! )
