Back in my day...
They delivered in rain, hail or shine, but these days it's often mum driving them around and all they do is step out of the car momentarily to stick it in the box

In my area all Heralds are now delivered by car by adults.. Probably safer.

Back in my day... We seemed to be better equipped for the job... used to deliver 60 Auckland Stars, 30 a side in a proper canvas newspaper carrier draped over the "ball breaker" bar of the bike, had to pedal like a cowboy, ... got less than ten a week, out of that I paid mum $2 for the luxury of having butter and my favourite cookies... ;D still managed to save $246 to buy a really flash Brother Portable Typewriter... ahhh, those were the days... ;D

tell us about glass milk bottles, and the goodnight kiwi, and telethons, and Sunday closing, and all the other things that were sooo much better.......... Perhaps you should find a new way to start threads criticising the way things are done in the 21st century. 'Back in my day' implies that it is no longer your day, rendering you irrelevant.

I can remember seeing prams with sleeping babies in them at matinees out in the picture theatre foyer, my mum comforted one that started crying, and it was ok to do that back then,. and prams with babies in them parked outside the shop, while mum and dad went inside and shopped,........**shudders at that happening today**

It's called changing times..............
Nice to chat about the past and recall things as they were............... but we all have to move with the times.
Every day I'm alive is 'my day'..............
