I've been working on and off for a few weeks on an old slab of macrocarpa and the smell in my workshop is just great.
But what gets to Mrs A is the almost ankle-deep layer of shavings and sawdust on the floor. She wants to get in there and clean it up and I've had to be very firm with her.
It's MY workshop and I love sloshing around in it

;D Its a lot easier to find what you dropped, if you have someone cleaning up for you. Send her my way if you like my workshop needs more than a clean. LOL. ;D

It's a large slab nearly 2 metres long and just over 100mm thick, or it will be in the fullness of time.
It may end up having no practical use at all and just be mounted on the wall of my den, but that depends very much on it's final grain, shape and finish.
Time will tell

Mac is awesome timber, even just hit with the ol' linseed.
Almost all heart, the knottier it is the more intense the colours and grain.

;D This is slab of swamp Kauri 2 metres high X 900 mm wide X 75 mm thick. It has memorabilia from the Korean War inset into it. I was commissioned to do this and it is proudly displayed at the Auckland War Memorial Museum.

That's an amazing piece Meandog. I'm going to look out for that when next we are up that way.
Moving it would have been no mean feat I'm sure
