I'm often puzzled by stuff on my PC. In the My Documents folder there is a folder named I386 and the contents were last modified in April 2007. Can anyone tell me the purpose of this folder please? It has heaps of files in it

I'm often puzzled by stuff on my PC. In the My Documents folder there is a folder named I386 and the contents were last modified in April 2007. Can anyone tell me the purpose of this folder please? It has heaps of files in it Searching on google I found this: The i386 folder holds the files used to install, repair, modify, update and rebuild Windows. Though these files are also located on your Windows installation CD (if you have one), I recommend you not delete anything located here. Deleting these files won’t recover much room, and the convenience of having the files there save a lot of time for us techie-types. (The contents of the i386 folder can commonly be found in the folder at C:\Windows\Options\Cabs. This Windows "cabs" folder is essentially the same as the i386 folder.)

We have spybot and when I have it running I sometimes look what files spybot checkes.
Here are some which puzzle me: Smitfraud-C C2.lop GAIN.Gator NCast AdCom
They all take quite a while for spybot to check and I wonder if I can remove them? But I think because I work on the computer all day - often searching the net - that these files will be automatically reinstalled by websites I am searching.
