Have you heard about lasagna gardening? I came across this on the net and tried it.
When you have a part in the garden (e.g. with lawn or weeds) and you want to turn it into vegetable garden. Here is an easy way to do it.
First you put a good layer of cardboard and newspaper onto the ground. I did use the hose and made the cardboard very wet. Then you put a layer of grass clippings over it and then another layer of bark or wood chips or saw dust and again a layer of grass and another layer of wood chips.
The principle is to put layers of greens (grass clippings or other fresh organic waste) this is the nitrogen
and a layers of brown stuff (cardboard, wood chips, saw dust) this is the carbon
Nitrogen and carbon makes wonderful compost and over time you will have a new vegetable garden without digging.
Because this makes quiet a thick layer I already started growing things in it. I made a hole in the layer and filled it with dirt and planted the plants into it. And I even added some compost worms. They will speed up the composting process.

Sounds interesting sweet - I once tried planting a bonsai vege garden - it sucked.
