www.stuff.co.nz/4861482a11.htmlPrime Minister John Key "believes" tax cuts for 2010-11 and will go ahead, but he stopped short of guaranteeing them today.Key, you clown - you were employed on the basis of your election promises - either deliver them or push off back to the weaselly world of currency manipulation. You've had ample time to have your finance goons check the books....it must be assumed that since you are unwilling to guarantee your word that you are either a/ incompetent b/ dishonest or c/ both Whichever it is, the nincompoop swing voter who put you in power on the basis of your election promises will be kicking themselves in the near future. Here's to the next Labour government!

I think John Key does have quite a few clues, unfortunately I think he is also naive and underestimating his ability to hold things together with the team he has behind him.
The tax cuts were always a bad idea, unfortunately most New Zealanders couldn't see past the promise of a bit more cash in their pockets, and failed to take heed of the warnings about the tough times ahead (the times we are just starting to experience). Anyone with an ounce of brain power could see this recession coming ... and if they couldn't figure it out, we were being told by Cullen that we couldn't afford the cuts. He knew how tough it was going to get.
It's sad that Cullen gave in to pressure and submitted to giving some cuts. National has made promises they are going to have to keep, but at a huge cost to everyone, including our children. New Zealand is full of individuals, and unless we start to practise some social cohesion, and work together as a nation, then I doubt we will see improvements to lifestyles for anyone other than the rich, for a very long time.
We are in for something most of us have never experienced, and very few of us are the slightest bit prepared.
John Key is running with the wrong group of people, in the end, along with the current recession, they will destroy him.

John Key, bless his heart, is a sock puppet.

I applaud Keys efforts and as you know I'm a HUGE Helen/Labour supporter - The task is mammoth but despite his political color, I believe his inclusive attitude to policy is to be commended. It's early days we all need to work together in order to get through this recession, I remain optimistic in Keys leadership.
;D
