I attended an auction at Turner's last week, in which truck loads of goods, some new immigrants had attempted to bring in to NZ from Asia. The people responsible were at the auction, but too broke to buy back much of their stuff.
We bought a few things, at great prices, and when unpacking them, found quite a few hidden food articles hidden amongst the stuff. Obviously customs had missed quite a bit and need a kick up the rare for that.
These people had attempted to bring forbidden food items into our country which could seriously affect our biosecurity, and were caught for it.... BUT ALLOWED TO REMAIN HERE ANYWAY !!!!
They demonstrated an absolute desire to flaunt our laws, and not respect their new country's enviroment.... but we let them in anyway !!! Where is Winnie when we need him ?
(Yes we did seek advice and dispose of the said food items in a safe manner)

Interesting you say that, I was just reading the paper at work today (at lunch time of course!) and this article caught my eye ... www.stuff.co.nz/national/crime/2264033/One-in-five-drug-hauls-caught Only about 20 percent of illegal drugs imported into New Zealand is detected by Customs, according to a report by the National Drug Intelligence Bureau. The confidential report, released to 3 News, showed that for every drug haul made by Customs, five crossed the border. Customs' interceptions of Contac NT, a Chinese cold medicine used to make methamphetamine, have increased by 1200 percent in the last five years. However, about 10 million tablets a year, or 2 percent of China's total Contac NT production, were sent to New Zealand, enough to produce 630kg of methamphetamine. Some shipments from China were sent to New Zealand via other countries to avoid detection, and human drug couriers were becoming more common.

Where is Winnie when we need him ? 1...nobody needs that tired old showboater. 2...much as I'm sure you'd love to send every foreigner home, it ain't going to happen. Smarter people than you have decided that this country desperately needs good quality skilled immigrants. If you can't cope with thaat, at least have the decency to quit your whining while we fix up your mess.

Get over yourself Naki, you're not a kiwi and never will be, and any 'good' you preceive you've done for this country is in your mind only. No one agrees with you, but you !! Interesting to note you agree that people should be able to bring illegal items into our country and be allowed to stay here, made more interesting by the fact you maintain you work for our armed forces. I wonder if they are aware of your blatent disregard for the law of this land. Hmmmmmm, I bet they don't, and what's more, I bet you're not even man enough to tell them. Have a good day, kiwiwannabe!!!

Have a nice day, racist underachiever. You think so? Your ignorance is amazing, and your presumptions incredible, not to mention the stupidity that you think you know about the personal achievements of those whose words you read on a message board. No wonder your country of birth didn't want you ..... ;D ;D ;D ;D
