Mine did that once. Only lost all the bookmarks above the tab bar though. Restarted FF and it was fine.
Did you fix it?

Well, I haven't had a problem since, just this instance where it completely reset itself, and bought up the firstrun screen again. Never mind, hadn't added many bookmarks, most were just imported from IE favourites anyway.

In saying that, I'm reluctant to only bookmark on FF now, usually chuck it in favourites on IE also, backup and all... Haha, hear that Bill, your system is just a backup now, LOL! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Bill if you are listening...you are the weakest link...goodbye ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) Hey, it's not even good for a backup. There's a better way, O. Actually, there's several. Here's one: In FF, all your personal settings, including bookmarks, are in a profile folder. Just make another copy of that and store it wherever you like. Quick and easy (like me ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) ) More info: www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile#backup

Been having all sorts of crazy things happening with my puter over the last 3 days. I was starting to get real peed off. So it was suggested that I do a System Restore. Well its great again although I have done these before it went clean out of my mind to do this. Writes oneself a note to do it if the puter plays up again. ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png)

MD, have you updated your virus definitions and done a full system scan with your anti-virus? Might pay to. If that shows nothing, you could try the online scanner here as a 'second opinion': www.trendmicro.com/hc_intro/default.aspI'm not sure how long it takes, but probably worth a shot.

Hi Mpg1! Good to see you here. I was worried for a while because your avatar was gone. I have some question (you might be able to help): We sell smaller and larger plastic and metal boxes. I would like to make a list with all the boxes and the dimensions (width, height, lenght). And the customer could click on width and the list would sort all boxes with their width. There will be around 500 - 600 different boxes. And this list should be in the background. I mean there should be a link the customer could click to get into the list. Hope I can explain what I am after. Do you know where I could find out how to do this? ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) ;D

Forgot to mention, allow bloody ages - like an hour or so for the online test. It's a bit faster using IE than FF, so I'm lead to believe. Just check you can download their activeX.

For a nifty JS option you could try hunting around here: www.hotscripts.com/JavaScript/index.htmlor here's an example, but note I haven't had a good look it's coding: tinyurl.com/3alo68

Yes, it's often a challenge and changes so fast it's hard to keep up! Perhaps I haven't understood your requirements correctly. eXtensible Markup Language doesn't really have much to do with what I thought you are trying to achieve. Is the example given at: tinyurl.com/3alo68 what you had in mind? The user is shown three selection menus-one for each dimension with only the width menu intitially showing options. Once they select the width, the next menu, say the height menu, shows the options for that width, and once they choose the height, the length menu shows the options for that width and height, and once they select the length, you then have all the dimensions needed? And you want a link on the page that pops up a small window with the menus and will return them to the page once they have made a valid selection (or forces the menus to be visible in the current page they are on)? That's do-able with JS. BUT...you may need to spend a bit of time learning how to make it work and also need to be mindful of providing another way, a noscript option, if they don't have JS enabled in their browsers (or- probably easier-just advise the selections won't work without JS enabled).

Cheers Mpg1 taking the time. The list should look like that: Order number Width Length Height NIF.3 180mm 104mm 146mm NIH.1 163mm 88mm 85mm NIH.2 146mm 104mm 85mm NIH.3 212mm 146mm 120mm NIH.4 300mm 212mm 150mm Because we have so many different sizes and the customer might need a case for a certain size of transformator he can't find the different sizes easily. I thought it would help if he could click on width and all the cases would be sorted by their width. I think I found an easy solution by having a link to a list where I have all the cases already sorted by their dimension.

Or shove it all in a pdf/excel document and they can click a link to download or view it for their reference?

Or shove it all in a pdf/excel document and they can click a link to download or view it for their reference? I tried something similar and it works but it is a html file with hyperlinks to the articles. shop.griederbauteile.ch/info/g/Gehaeuse.htmlThere are only a few yet to see if it would work.
