What are you trying to do Macca? Trying to port forward Azureus, thru my DLink. What a major drama. You have to set up a static IP (internal) to do it, and when I do, I lose the internet altogether. I think the people at xtra have an alert come up when my phone number rings them *****LOGGER ALERT, LOGGER ALERT******* Mind you, the plus side is that now I can bugger it up, and then fix it myself. ;D I'm gonna fix it good, get a new modem/router. LOL.

I have a D-link and you don't need to do all that....
What model D-link is it? If it is the same as mine, I'll show you how to do it.

I actually need a new one anyway. I just got a new PC, and I'm giving the old one to my daughter and want to hook up the net on it for her. I could use the USB port, but the 2 PC's are at opposite ends of the house, so I think I'll get one of those wireless jobs.

Yeah, that's where you can go wrong. Portforward.com suggests a static IP but you DON'T need it.
Give me 5 to check if mine is a 302G and I'll get back to you. I have a feeling it is 340G but I'll have a look. Even if it is a different model, the basics should be the same...

OK, it's a DSL-504G but I'll tell you how I port forward.
1) To get to my router (I pronounce it ROOTER like O's cock!) I use http://10.1.1.1
2) Go to ADVANCED and then VIRTUAL SERVER
3) There is a few boxes to fill out with NAT enabled at the top Under Private IP type 10.1.1.2 Then under port, typ the port you want forwarded eg 8080 for my webcam, 45682 for my KaZaa
If you have fiddled your own IP settings you might have to do a system restore to get back to normal IP settings?
I'll have a look at portforward.com and see if your box is the same as mine (so to speak...).

Yep. Similar. I used 10.1.1.136 for my "private IP"
And I've reloaded the modem a few times now with the default settings. LMAO!

Oh, and I'll leave the comment about O's cock alone, I think.

Ooops, I've just seen your post. Did you just give yourself that address (10.1.1.136) ?
If you access your router 10.1.1.1, then your IP should be 10.1.1.2 if you only have one computer on your router.
Try 10.1.1.136 and see if it works???

Your main computer will default to 10.1.1.2 without you doing anything!!!
Go to command prompt (found under accessories) and type ipconfig/all. Your IP adress will show up near the bottom (above subnet mask).
