Oh crap Macca, Karen has the same problem at the moment, for those on dial up, there is an option in your profile to turn off all images and avatars, this will speed things up a lot, just turn images on when you need to...
Click on Profile at the top, then Modify Profile, and the options are in there...
Show Avatars: If you do not wish to see the avatars of other users on this forum, select "No."
Show Images: If you wish to disable all images on the forum, select "No." All images will be replaced by a text equivalent, and you will be able to browse the forum faster.

I'm so slow the speed test hung up...... I'll try again.
I'm usually 1500 kb/sec because the phone lines up here don't support faster broadband speeds. I tried to upgrade to a faster speed but the speed didn't change so I went back to my old broadband plan...

Well, that's better than the 64kb/sec they threatened me with....

O, how do you have such a good upload speed? I thought it was capped to 128kb/s in New Zealand, regardless of plan?

Because of Christine's working for Switzerland, we needed the best upload speed we could get, so we opted (reluctantly, but the other providers just couldn't compete!) for the Telecom Broadband PRO account, which allows uploads and downloads as fast as our line can handle.
Gee Capt., that is shocking! Let us know what their reply is...

Try resetting your bb modem meandog, see if that makes a difference. Just unplug it from the power for half a minute, then plug it back in.

;D Well my ISP has got back to me and tested the line etc. The results is I am actually getting more than this plan I am on states. Suppose to be on 256/128 and its higher. I can get heaps more, the line will take it, but it would cost me an extra $10 per month. So I will stay at this for the time being and may look at it again in the new year. I can switch back and forward with out it costing me any further costs for switch back and forward.
