Strange thing, it's just as fast as on-peak, when my speed is supposedly reduced for being over my data allowance...

Are you sure you're not paying extra though Macca?
Like, keeping the speed, but paying per the Mb?

Are you sure you're not paying extra though Macca? Like, keeping the speed, but paying per the Mb? This is an automated message from Xtra to let you know you have used more than the monthly data allowance for your Xtra Broadband plan, on the phone number 9xxxxxxx This broadband usage alert was sent when we were aware you had exceeded 100 per cent of the monthly data allowance and under normal conditions, will accurately reflect usage up to 4 hours earlier. However, in some circumstances, such as when there are large numbers of users on the internet, it can sometimes take longer for your usage meter to be updated, particularly at the end of your billing month. As you are on a flat rate plan you will not be charged any excess data costs if you exceed your monthly plan limit, but you may find we reduce your connection to dial-up speeds. That came 6 days ago.

Lucky you, Macca. It took 3 days for mine to be reduced after getting the email... It was worth it - I have the latest 9 episodes of Top Gear that haven't even been screened in NZ yet!

How fast is your connection speed? Test at this website, and use the forum link to post the result... speedtest.net/Bringing it over so I can regularly see how slow I am...

to add to my woes, my laptop is spuriously clicking my touchpad button, causing me to go where I don't want to go. I've been into mouse control and swapped buttons so my right click is now my left click. This confirmed it, as now I keep getting properties for evrything... I'm guessing the problem is dust, feathers etc in the touch pad buttons. I might open up my lappy tonight to clean it out. Has anyone ever opened up a lappy? Anything I can damage just by touching it??? The only other answer would be an external mouse.
