Introducing Tabethaoptimusnz.proboards83.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=gard&thread=1196124819&page=1I would like to take this opportunity to create a slide show using my teddy Tabetha as the mascot. Many years ago I had this little stuffed cow and I sent it around the globe with friends and family. What I would like to propose is sending my beloved Tabetha out to the YOP community so that she can have her photo taken in your part of godzone. Her first homestay will go to the person who responds to this message - I will courier her anywhere in New Zealand - with a little something that represents Christchurch. The next person will then send her onto her next location with a little something that represents their region and eventually she will return to me and we would have shared her journey and given each other a small token of what makes this country amazing. When Tabetha ends up in your part of the world - please photo her with your family, friends, in your gardens, homes, your city and we will share her adventure with each other on YOP. I may even include a small book so that when she is sent to the next host family each person can write a small something in her journal. If you would like to take part in Tabetha's adventure please respond to this message. Looking forward to your input. Leigh ;D

Awesome, hopefully Tabetha will be pretty well socialised before she leaves here Macca, part of Christine's doll museum is devoted to Teddys, so I'm sure she is going to make lots of new friends ;D. ;D The journal is a good idea, definitely include that Leigh. Please tell Tabetha we are looking very forward to her visit here, and she needn't miss any of the last days of school, the Teddys at Teddy School are looking forward to her visit too! Also her visit is going to coincide with the schools annual outing to Smurf Village, so I am sure she will enjoy that too! See you soon Tabetha... ;D

Hi Leigh, could you please add Ladeda to the Itinerary, she is away on holidays for a couple of weeks and I know she is keen, I know Macca's addy and could send it on to him, he in turn could return it to my address, then I pass it on to Ladeda, and I would be happy to facilitate the delivery to Misilon, if she is keen... NOT trying to put a damper on this sterling idea, just feel it may be better to use our social network to get Tabetha from A-B, rather than a centralised database... Although I do understand that you may want to keep tabs on the whereabouts of Tabs *hehe* but I can assure you that the transition between here, then Macca's, then Ladeda's, then Misilon's, would be a very smooth one, as these are all people I implicitly trust.

When I think of Christchurch, I think about Trams, coffee, cafes and all the festivals during the summer.
Sorry this is not a very good picture of me because I am the one driving the tram (hahaha). Me chilling in my garden at Dragonfly Cottage. Me in front of a Christmas tree over at Merivale mall. I love the lights of this tree - soooooo pretty We have a huge sci-fi collection - Janeway is my favourite star ship captain The small parcel we have put together for our first host family (Oasisnz & Ivy) represents the taste of all that is yummy in Christchurch. The piece of fern and miniture rose is from our garden. See you soon sunny Nelson Tabetha ;D *just a wee pic size edit*

Tabetha's Itinerary Departure: CHRISTCHURCH ;D Oasisnz - Nelson ;D Macca - Whangarei ;D Misilon - Whakatane ;D Ladeda - Nelson ;D Mamamia - Auckland Each host family can liaise with the following family when they are ready to send her onto her next destination. Thank you everyone for your time and energy - this is going to be an interesting story. I'm thinking as a community we could use snippets of her journal and create a childrens story.... What are your thoughts? Leigh ;D

I like the idea for a children's story to come out of Tabetha's journey, it would make good reading

Tabetha has arrived safely in Nelson. She was very tired after her long journey, and asked, "Do you mind if I just chill out for a bit?" "No worries at all Tabetha", we said, "Just make yourself at home, we'll see you to your room, and get you settled in." Tabetha said, "Could you please let Mum know that I had a safe but tiring journey, and I'll be in touch ASAP." "Of course we will Tabetha, have a good rest, tomorrow will be a BIG day!"
