wow wot a thread. once in a while one comes along that makes one think and makes one realise how similar we all are. can rerally relate to several stories in here. Had a not so nice upbringing myself. So here goes a story of mine to try and show my dad suppoes sence of houmer at others expence. At least no hiding was dished out here
so was christmas morning. all 5 of us kids got up early to see wot father christmas bought this year. Finaly got the haul all sorted and had .,as usuall, to go show mum and dad wot father christmas bought this year. So after climbing and overloading mum and dad bed with all the goodies dad says to my 10 month younger brother than me brother "Max did you check to see if father christmas happened to leave you a horse???" Living in the boonies on a large sheep farm and using horses daily a horse of ones very own was something we all dreamed of and of course always asked father christmas for while on his knee at farmers. So out he went searching for the lost horse 'out there' hmmmm" no horse dad" ."well " dad answers, "is the drive gate open?" out he runs the mile or so down the drive only to see yes the drive gate was left open. He comes breathlessly back to announce yes the gate was open so if father christams did leave a horse he must be on the road somewhere. "Yep" dad says, "you and ya big brother (me) better get a bridle of go walk the road to check aye" knowing dad as we did this really meant you better get your butts down there and go see. So off we walk first up the road then down the road, no horse, heck how far could one have walked during the night??? better go further still up and down the road cos god only knows how far one could go. and how bad would father christmas think of us if we didn't look properly??? he probibly wouldn't come next year anyway was out thoughts. Eventually we also new we had to give in and report in for the christmas lunch feast. As we come back up the driveway there is dad laughing his arse off at us still looking. was so funny to him that we were more worried about disappointing father christmas than finding the horse by this time. There was of course no horse but dad thought it pretty good that he got rid of two of us at least on his christmas morning. Oh so funny. one of so many times dad managed to dissapoint us and somhow it was oh so funny.

I am not sure how they feel. I had a very loving and happy upbringing. My father was very strict and sometimes I felt frustratedd but looking back it was right so.

Thanks a lot for the wishes. Hope all is going well for you. Time goes too fast and I can't do everything I would like to. When I think what is important to me then the first thing in my mind is my children and of course big O and my extended family. Because my mother passed on too early. I sometimes would love to ask her how she cooked some dishes or how she planted some things. I know I can't so I decided to make a booklet with all the things I remember I made for the children and maybe they would like to know how I did it. Time goes too fast and one day I will be layed to rest. The booklet hopefully will be with them. Last year when I started the booklet and lost everything (photos and written) I asked my older daughter if she would be interested in a booklet like that and she said yes. That motivated me to start again and this time I save it!! ;D
